Dimon Magnet Academy - DMN

State-Certified STEM Magnet Academy

This magnet program provides transportation!

Dimon is Muscogee County's only school-wide STEM certified school through the state of Georgia. We believe in PBL (Project-Based Learning) where students develop solutions to problems that are facing our environment through hands-on activities. Magnet students at Dimon receive STEM instruction which stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. We have an overarching STEM project that all grades work towards accomplishing and that is Food Insecurity. How can each of our students help those that are food insecure? All students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of clubs during Club Day which include 3-D printing, rock painting, bird house building, and more. We have a "Fresh and Crafty Fair" to sell items made during Club Day to help support our STEM program. We also take part in a number of competitions to include FIRST Lego League where this season both of our teams won Championship trophies, Helen Ruffin Book Bowl, and Science Olympiad. Every student will have the opportunity to learn about coding and robotics and has access to learning with our Greenhouse, Butterfly Atrium, Nature Trail, and Eco-Pond. If you would like to know more, please email Mr. Elliott or visit our website at www.dimonmagnetacademy.com or our FaceBook page by searching @DimonMagnetAcademy. Testing is done one on one and will take place through ZOOM for grades K, 1, and 5. Grades 2, 3, and 4 are in person testing. If you would like, you can have a tour of Dimon at your request. Set up an appointment with Mr. Elliott.
